In celebration of our new Rank System to be, I think it would also be a grand idea to have a type of celebration or party and invite along other guilds etc for this. The reason I said Wine Mixer, is thanks to the new Wine Shop in Dalaran, casks, bottles and off hand glasses and props and such are availible. I'll be looking into doing various Dailies on Feri after I tally up a small bill. That is of course if this idea comes to fution this is the planning stage and I'd like to see everyones input and ideas on this as well as a date you'd think would be best. This sounds like an awesome idea... but I didn't get many submissions for the contest. I might extend the deadline a week or ten days in case some people didn't know about it.

Speaking of planning as mentioned by Fiha/Mally/Mycca in the contest thread.... this thread too... was not so much supposed to be a praise the idea thread... but a...
HELP FERI PLAN AN EVENT CAUSE IT'S HARD :<
....Thread... *smoothes out shirt*
So getting to more specifics I would like to see input on the following:
When can you/others attend or when is the most convienient day you think this should be done: For me its Saturday, maybe Friday but thats just me.
Who to invite: This event will be a good way to open our doors maybe kill off some of the hurtful false rumors, maybe even attract more members. So, as far as Guilds to invite and indivual RPers. A list of your invitees, the most common names and guilds will be picked, others will be decided upon.
Support and Vendors: So I checked into the whole Dalaran wine shop and after a while, the prices do indeedly get to be a fair amount. So your generous donations to our lovely Guild Bank will help this along smoothly so my Mount Fund dosn't suffer too badly >.>
Extras: Perhaps it can be a Story night event held? Or perhaps someone has an extra something they'd to do? Sing songs, tell jokes or Poems? maybe a discussion group? Who knows.
So post your lists and ideas here please! And absolutely EVERYONES input is welcome so dont be shy! EVERY ONE has an idea, I know it! So lets hear it!

Saturday is horrible for me, that's the day I pretend I'm not a cripple and actually get out of the house to socialize a little, be it going to a movie with my family or playing Shadowrun with friends. It's also the day I prove to the world that I am not completely addicted to World of Warcraft. (just mostly) Besides, there is already a story night scheduled on saturday evenings, hosted by Fiha. I like friday much better, although there is a chance I won't be able to make a friday either. Depends on whether one of the movies we are waiting for to come out, comes out. Basicly, any weekend evening is iffy for me. Not just for the social issues, but also because I share the comp with my honey and since he works evenings during the week, he gets priority on the weekends. Wednesday is the day I like the best. I'm all alone on wednesday's so there's no interruptions or distractions for me. But asside from my own issues, if you want a chance to get the highest amount of attendees, Sunday would be best. There are more people on-line on sunday evenings then any other time. What are you planning for a location? As much as I would -love!!!- to hold it at the Beer Garden in Dalaran, anywhere in Dalaran would be a bad idea. The lag there for most people is so bad that most people don't like rping there. ICly, for security reasons, Shar would recommend it not be held in the manor.......hmmm you know, we should icly sit down to discuss some of the details for the mixer *grin* There's always the convention center in the dwarven sector of Stormwind as a place to hold it, or the park, we could take over one of the bars there, or even the house in Cutthroat alley, I haven't noticed whether someone has claimed it for their guild rp. Or we could hold it outside of town, it would help ease the lag for some people. Westbrook garison is a good place to rp, Silver Dawn used to hold their guild meetings and weekly rp sessions there all the time. As for who to invite......Hm...we could always post an invite on the sasu website, a lot of the people we raid with rp. And any guilds we are allied with.... And I can certainly donate to the booze fund

Also happy to chip in for costs + going to agree with shar on the veto to the beer garden idea and adding to her list the risk of us being griefed to high heavens. as to the night, while you are welcome to play hosts to story night and making it a HNS event for one night i'd prolly reccomend against it, it should be a merry function and story night tends to be a little low key. friday night is my saturday morning so i can manage that, just from a personal preference and friday nights are generally not listed as raiding nights (in my experiance) so it might be ideal when sending invites to friends of HNS who aren't in the guild but have other regular commitments to keep up with. i've got a little notepad of rp event ideas if this mixer turns into a monthly/semi regular thing. but that's much later ... location? shat is no longer a buzz with people and still a very pretty location outside SW that's also mob free. We can take platters + food items from dalaran and take over the world's end tavern perhaps or ... shove everyone through the portal and take over one of the beautiful ships in the old SSO daily quest hub. but here's my favourite suggestion, what about the harbor here - get everyone out of the snow and ice and relax on the sand: this then gives you a little theme to work with and some simple ideas for games and contests spring to mind (eg: treasure hunt, bathing suit contest ... hell just making people come up with a pair of swimmers to wear is great fun imo ... races etc) it's a nice space with few mobs (those that are furthur up the hill are lvl 10 max and the one or two cats near the shore are lvl 9 - i managed to run there on a lvl 1 belf alt) it's called the azure breaze coast, fyi.

I am usually most available on the weekends (Sunday more so than others) and would be happy to help out with whatever may need be done as long as I know ahead of time so I can try and plan it into my recently hectic RL schedule.
As for who to invite, I would recommend all of the major RP guilds despite if they have a less than pleasant standing with House Nightstone or not. It will give them a chance to see how we do things as well as allow a chance for others to see us happily mingling with our enemies in a peaceful setting. I am sure it will be good for public relations on all fronts. As for individuals, any that you could think of. I would recommend posting a thread not only on the official realm forums, but the ER RP Network and a couple of guild forums as well. That way it would be a bit more difficult for people to not know this was happening. Also, on that same subject, I would suggest inviting the guild leaders of whatever RP guilds we are inviting via the in-game calendar system so that they have an in-game reminder as well as the out of game venues.
I really like Fiha's location suggestions as they are quite beautiful, they play in to Siri's high elf-ishness and provide what I imagine to be a fairly lag free environment. Because of that setting as well (to repeat what Fiha had mentioned) it is possible to hold small side events such as the aforementioned bathing suit contest, races, etc. Kind of like a giant picnic of sorts.
Either way, as I said, if I am alerted well enough a head of time I can promote this big time and hopefully we can get a rather nice turnout. I'm here for what you need me for Feri!

My work schedule shifts weekly. As such my attendance with be hit-or-miss, Feri.
As for location, as awesome as it would be to perhaps show off the 'Baroness of Sunsail Anchorage' part in Sirithil's title, we have to remember that not all Alliance types are A) Blood Elf Friendly or B) Willing to travel that far (for Alliance who don't have Zul'Aman FP, that's a long run, and it's a long enough flight from IF as it is. Worse is when alll our Mage and Warlock RPers are too busy summoning/porting people to/from the event that they can't effectively RP).
I second the suggestion of Shattrath, mainly because it is a beautiful area with many RP spots that can whet the palette of the RP community, while being easily accessible and (pretty much) greifer free. The only setback I see if those who chose during the Scryer vs Aldor, which limits where we would be able to host this gala.
Aside from that, Ravenholdt Manor has been pretty empty for a while... <.<

I would also like to suggest that the ranking systems be posted publicly so that players such as Alak here have them laid out before him so he can throw in his comments/revisions as well. He has claimed to be a rank tank in the past, I am sure he will be more than helpful in our endeavors.

I'm sorry, I have a real problem with getting input for guild issues from non-guild members. If Alak wants to help form the new rank system, let him join the guild first. Otherwise, it's akin to letting Iraq decide what the US policies should be.
The Beggar's Haunt in Duskwood is a very pretty spot as well and it's out of the way of travel paths.

Alak has been trying to get his character Antoj (I believe that was it unless I am mistaken) and we just haven't had much luck in getting that hashed out as we have been trying to get things within the guild in order first. He has been very helpful and his input thus far has been appreciated. ...also, last time I checked, we weren't at war with Alak.

I believe this little shindig we're trying to plan is to make your guild more open to the public. Your mood is counter productive to the intent. If you have a -personal- problem with me, however, I'll gladly hammer them out in a private messaging system. I am trying to help your guild, regardless of if I'm in it or not. Besides, -eventually- people Outside the guild will know of your ranks when you implement them. Also, Beggar's Haunt is a bit too dark and broody for something that's supposed to be uplifting.

So, how about instead of dragging the thread into a squabble over words and let's be honest - this isn't a banner waving session for the us army, i don't overly give a care - get back to the topic:
there have been some wonderful suggestions given and feri was talking costs in /o last night which was helpful to get an idea of how much outlay we'd need.
maybe yank on the reigns a little and see if we can compile a list of what's been suggested so far? i have a feeling it may be the same case as with the rank suggestions - most people are happy enough to simply cast a vote with out really wanting to delve further into the organization of things. so what do we have thus far:
Begger's Haunt World's End Tavern Azure Breeze Coast Harbor Dalaran Beer Garden SSO Daily Zone (taking over one of the boats) Story Night Ravenholdt Manor
there are more that have come up in conversation i'm sure - maybe we need to start prodding people in guild a little harder untill the end of the week - and tbh? keep the wild personal offence taking out of here and let it remain a productive space. ty.

I suggested the Ravenholdt Manor as well. Building design with a good outdoors area, no player traffic, not too far out of the way.
